Thank you to:
  • Live Entertainment: “Dueling Pianos Show” from National Harbor's favorite hot spot, Bobby McKey’s.
  • Audio/Video: Sound system with 4 video screens provided by Total A/V Systems.
  • All of our VOLUNTEERS!!!
This year’s OLGC Auction Gala (L.U.A.U.) was a call to “Let Us All Unite” and unite we did! Honorary Chairs Rose Marie Blatnik, Cynthia Boyce and Margaret Watts united with Volunteers, Volunteers united with Parishioners and Parishioners united with guests. It was inspiring and moving to see everyone truly come together and enjoy an evening of good food, great entertainment, high spirits and tremendous giving.

Hopefully we achieved the goal of all attendees having a fabulous time and a happy night out among friends as well as raising money for our parish. The final figures are being tallied. However we do know that we raised about $15,000 to support OLGC Youth Ministry’s participation in Work Camp.

Words are insufficient to adequately show our appreciation for the heroic efforts of the Auction’s many dedicated and creative volunteers without whom this event would not be possible.

For those guests who were able to join us, many thanks for your support of OLGC and we hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. For those unable to attend, we do hope you will be able to partake next year which we hope to be even better!

Thank you for your generosity with WorkCamp 2010.

WORKCAMP 2010 was a great success for Our Lady of Good Counsel.  Forty-eight high school aged teens and ten adults traveled to Newton, North Carolina to help underprivileged members of the community.  From painting to building wheelchair ramps, our group made a huge impact on the lives of dozens of people in Newton.

Each evening, the teens and adults gathered for a program that included song, praise, worship and discussion.  Joined by more than 400 teens and adults from around the United States, the participants from OLGC had a fantastic WorkCamp experience.

The money raised at auction helped offset a huge cost for a number of OLGC families who could not have attended without your help, and the dollars donated at the auction will help next year as well.  We expect to have almost every underclassmen who went with us this past year join us again next summer as we travel to Canonsburg, PA for WorkCamp 2011.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our experience a great one!
